Testimony favors tax changes

An initiative to give county governments more flexibility in how they tax personal property of businesses got one step closer to passing Wednesday.

During a hearing inside the Senate Budget and Taxation Committee, Wicomico County Director of Administration Wayne Strausburg and Maryland Association of Counties Andrea Mansfield spoke in support of plans to decouple the property tax rate from the personal property tax rate.
