Senior scores 1,000th point

As Thomas Brown continued to ferociously grab rebound after rebound, little did he know he was moving closer and closer to history.

Once the final buzzer sounded in a game earlier this month against Pocomoke, the senior forward on the Wicomico boys basketball team pulled down a game-high 28 boards and set a new school record.

The rebound total surpassed the 24 recorded by Harris Strozier more than 40 years ago. It was his second major accomplishment of the year, which also included him eclipsing the 1,000 point mark for his career. ...
