SUSSEX: Judge holds hearing on sheriff's powers

GEORGETOWN - A Delaware judge is set to hear arguments in a lawsuit filed by the Sussex County sheriff in a dispute with state and local officials over whether he has police powers.

Sheriff Jeff Christopher sued the state and county last year, asking a judge to declare that he is the county's chief law enforcement officer and has police powers under Delaware's constitution.
