Municipal elections are the best opportunity for voters to have a real impact on their community, but only if they fulfill their obligation to educate themselves and then, vote.

While Tuesday's primary election in Salisbury did not make it entirely clear who all the contenders would be for the April 2 general election, it did produce clear first-place results in both districts and a second-place contender in District 2.
We congratulate District 1 incumbent and unofficial first-place winner Shanie Shields, whose opponent remains undecided until the provisional and remaining absentee ballots are counted, and whose lead increased by two votes when she picked up an additional 14 absentee votes.
