MILFORD - An established shelter that helps homeless veterans get back on their feet is branching out with a second home that would help female veterans and their children.

Home of the Brave, which has operated a shelter for men retired from the armed forces for years, has bought a second home in a rural neighborhood outside Milford, intending to house up to six women as part of the new Women Warriors Reintegration Program, said Linda Boone, president of the nonprofit's board.

If its plans come to fruition, Home of the Brave will open the only shelter in Delaware to welcome homeless female ...
