The author of a recent commentary has forgotten that after the Civil Rights act was signed by a Democratic president, the solidly Democratic South switched to the Republican Party and basically took over the Party of Lincoln through sheer numbers that the tea party can't match today. Both parties began a major philosophy switch.With Big Money running the show and the bible-belters and hate groups swelling the ranks of the Republican party, civil liberty groups and minorities fled to the only other real option; the Democrats, freshly purged.Utility rates
